“The HIV CURE workshop, which took place on the 22nd of November, meant quite a lot to me as I learned a great deal. I have realized that a lot of work needs to be done to spread the word about HIV CURE and the HIV disease itself.
I met quite a few panelists, and I look forward to working with them as we aim to eliminate HIV and introduce HIV CURE to the people of South Africa. The knowledge shared was very helpful and changed my perspective on HIV CURE, giving me hope that a better future is ahead.
I learned that HIV CURE is not yet available; it’s still under development. I need to be open-minded when discussing this topic, as some people say it’s already here, while others say it’s not, but the truth is, it’s still developing!
The cure involves different approaches, such as gene therapy and bone marrow, etc.
One main takeaway I got from the workshop is that by working together and ensuring people are informed about HIV CURE, we can reduce or even eliminate the number of people with HIV by 2030.
I want to contribute to spreading awareness about the cure, as it is still a sensitive topic, and many people don’t fully understand its importance and meaning.”
