MORE ABOUT IMPACT DRIVERS

Impact Drivers is a youth-led, women-led organisation based in Johannesburg, South Africa, working throughout the country and neighbouring countries. Officially founded in 2016, Impact Drivers has ideated and implemented relevant programmes that respond to the needs of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) and adolescent boys and young men (BYM) in all their diversity. We have since made tremendous strides in the fight for the empowerment of AGYW and ABYM. We understand what it means to be a vulnerable young person, especial a young woman, thrown on the sidelines of a community with very little chance of thriving and being independent. So, our programmes aim to ensure that AGYW and ABYM all get the lifeline they deserve.

Our advocacy work involves fighting for the rights of AGYW in all their diversity, challenging cultural and social norms that have not been beneficial for girls and young women. We aim to empower these girls to be in control of the decisions they make as they navigate their daily lives.

Our programmes focus primarily on sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR), comprehensive sexual education (CSE), access to HIV prevention methods, and personal development.

OUR MISSION

To educate girls and young women on sexual reproductive health and rights in all their diversity. To empower, encourage, and support them by providing them with practical tools to make informed decisions as they navigate their daily lives. Ensure that they receive access to primary health care services free from stigma and discrimination.

To advocate for the meaningful engagement of girls and young women in all their diverse communities to ensure open, transparent, and progressive responses that lead to positive, sustainable change.

OUR VALUES

As we implement our work, we believe that:

OUR EXPERTISE

Working over on over ten years of experience in multiple sectors, we have come to understand what the girls and young women want and meet them at their point of need.

OUR APROACH

Our unique “selling” proposition is the understanding of where girls and young women are, realistically, in their lives ,and where they need to be if we are to achieve our sustainable development goals, and targets such as 95/95/95 and U=U. Through our various programmes, both online and on-location, we provide:
