“I recently had the honor of attending an event hosted by Impact Drivers as a special guest speaker in my capacity as Miss Earth Air South Africa 2024. The event centered on climate change and its adverse effects on our planet, particularly on women and its intersection with gender-based violence. It was a truly inspiring experience, filled with meaningful discussions and valuable insights. The young women in attendance were highly engaged, openly sharing their thoughts and experiences while actively participating in conversations about these pressing issues. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn created an environment of collaboration and empowerment, leaving everyone with actionable takeaways to implement in their own lives. It was both beautiful and informative, with a vibrant atmosphere fueled by the engagement of thoughtful women.
The event highlighted the importance of creating spaces where women can voice their concerns and learn about the implications of environmental changes on their lives and communities. It was not just an informative session but also a celebration of shared wisdom and collective action to address climate challenges.
